A tragic domestic violence incident has shocked the Bentley community in Perth’s south-east after a 16-year-old boy was charged with the alleged murder of his mother and the attempted murder of his younger sister.
According to Western Australia Police, emergency services responded to a home on Mills Street in Bentley at approximately 6:15 a.m., where they discovered the body of a 35-year-old woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly afterward, officers located a 12-year-old girl suffering from serious injuries on Albany Highway in nearby Cannington, approximately 600 metres from the family home. She received emergency medical treatment and was transported to a hospital for further care.
Police established two crime scenes as detectives began investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody at the Bentley residence and has since been charged with the alleged murder of his mother and the attempted unlawful killing of his sister.
